The LeMat revolver is one you?ve probably seen many times. As a favorite weapon of the Confederate army, it appears regularly in re-enactments and was also featured in both The Quick and the Dead and Cold Mountain.
This versatile, powerful weapon carried nine .41 caliber bullets in a revolving cylinder that fired through the main, 16-gauge upper barrel. The inventor (Dr. Jean Alexandre LeMat) added a 20-gauge smooth barrel below the primary barrel, giving this gun the ability to also fire buckshot. A lever on the end of the hammer selected the barrel to be ignited and while this was not a particularly accurate pistol, its sheer firepower made it a favorite among the Confederate troops armed with it.
This non-firing gun is 14 inches overall and weighs 3.6 pounds due to the presence of the second barrel.
The original design of the weapon featured polished walnut grips, but the simulated checkered wood grip featured on this replica is more commonly seen in the production model.
This replica firearm is NON-FIRING and cannot be made to fire real ammunition. You must 18 years of age or older to purchase.
