This re-enactor's sword is based on the Marshall sword, which was named for late 12th century knight of high regard in England. Classically styled, this practical sword has a cruciform hilt, wheel pommel, and a ridged and fullered blade that is light and stiff.
This sword can be wielded without too much stress on the arm. This sword is tailored to meet the needs of re-enactment and stage combat. The blade has no edge and is not pointed; it's perfectly suited for hard use while providing the safety needed for today's re-enactment organizations. Crafted in 1065 high carbon steel, hardened to 50HRC, the blade reduces edge-notching and provides resilience with less brittleness. The tang of this sword has radius corners at the blade shoulders and no welds. The end of the tang is is riveted over the pommel, eliminating inadvertent disassembly while providing a traditional means of tightening the hilt. The grip is leather-covered wood while the scabbard is fashioned from glass-filled resin to provide impact and corrosion resistance.
Scabbard can be custom decorated by the user.
30″ blade, 6 1/2″ handle, 36 1/2″ overall.
