The Pugio Dagger was one of the two main edged weapons carried by the typical Roman Legionnaire or Centurion. The other edged weapon was the classic Gladius sword. The Pugio Dagger was most in effective in close combat as a stabbing weapon and was the last line of defense in the extreme close quarters combat of the time. It also served as a basic utility knife. The double-edge steel blade measures 8.5" long. The scabbard is polished steel and features a brass embossed front plate and 4 brass tie rings.
