If you are a fantasy sword collector then you have probably heard of Kit Rae's Fantasy Swords. If not, then you must start your sword collection with at least one of these high quality fantasy blades. No other fantasy sword has the attention to detail.
Kit Rae is one of the foremost fantasy/collectible weapon designers in the industry with a worldwide following for his unique fantasy weapons. He was the lead designer for United Cutlery for over fifteen years, responsible for design of the Legends in Steel, Samurai 3000, Steel Apocalypse, Blades of Atlantis, Volkoth, and the Swords of the Ancients collections. His knives and swords have appeared in blockbuster television shows such as "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine", "The X-Files", "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", and numerous films such as "Spider Man 2", "Star Trek: Nemesis", and "The Chronicles of Riddick". In addition to designing such famous collectible weapons as the Indiana Jones Khyber Bowie for Lucasfilm and the Sword of Darkness for United Cutlery, Kit Rae has also supervised many licensed weapon replicas from film and tv properties such as “Heroes”, “Highlander”, “Warcraft/Frostmourne”, "Blade/Blade Trinity,"" Hellboy", "Total Recall," "Mortal Kombat", "The Mask of Zorro", and over fifty products for "The Lord of the Rings Trilogy". He has also created custom knife designs for companies like United Cutlery, Harley-Davidson, and Colt, and in 1996 won a Blade Magazine award. In 1997 Kit created the highly successful Kit Rae Fantasy Art brand, a line of his unique collectible weapons with companion art prints of his fantasy paintings. Images from a hidden world of dreams and nightmares inspire this line of edged creations. Some of His designs are strikingly beautiful, some wickedly haunting, and some defy conventional description. Kit's fantasy knives and swords spawned the creation of a huge collectible market worldwide for fantasy weapons that has generated numerous imitators. He is most well known for his best selling Swords of the Ancients collection, for which he created a series of companion fantasy art paintings and stories. Though Kit has been designing knives since 1984, fantasy and sci-fi art have always been Kit's passion. His primary business is Kit Rae Design Studio, LLC.
Kit Rae is also an artist who specializes in the sci-fi, fantasy, and horror genres. His background in art started when he was a child with charcoal drawing, acrylic and oil painting. He was influenced by such varied artists as Frank Frazetta, Michael Whelan, Boris Vallejo, Jim Burns, Moebius, H.R. Giger, and film concept artists, Ron Cobb, Ralph McQuarrie, and Joe Johnston. These days Kit uses a mixed media approach to his art, utilizing drawing, painting, sculpting, photography, and the computer. Most of his current art is tied to his tale of the Swords of the Ancients mythology, and features those characters and weapons.
