This helmet is suitable for foot or mounted combat and makes up a piece of the complete German Gothic collection from Windlass Steelcrafts®. Possibly originating from France or Burgundy, the Salade or English Sallet is constructed with a tail that protects the back of the head and neck. A bevor, protecting the chin and throat, provides a flush mount surface for the helmet to sit upon. The visor can be moved up and down and the bevor has a falling buff like the original design, which is thought to be of English origin from around the year 1480. Both the salade and bevor are made from 18 gauge steel, are fully lined, and wearable.
