These Butterfly Swords originated from southern China and enjoyed relative obscurity until the close of the 1940's when Communism on mainland China forced Kung Fu masters to flee the country in search of new locations for their schools. With the explosion of Kung Fu's popularity, these great swords entered the spotlight.

Designed to appear as one when stowed away in their scabbard, these battle ready butterfly swords can be quickly brought to bear in both hands, giving the user a fearsome means of attack.

These are fully functional blades constructed of 1055 carbon steel. With an overall length of 20 1/4", the blades measure 15" long. The grip is made from carefully selected hardwood wrapped with braided cord giving it a slip-proof quality. The "D" shaped guard is designed with an extended forward quillion which can both deflect and capture various weapons, giving the one wielding these awesome blades a leg up on the attacker.

Comes complete with a leather scabbard.
